This video features the world premiere performance of "Taking Charge…" for Flute/Piccolo, Percussion, and Piano by Pulitzer Prize winning composer Joseph Schwantner. This work was commissioned by the Bienen School of Music in celebration of retiring faculty flute professor Walfrid Kujala. The featured performers are Kristin Carr, flute, piccolo, and tambourine; Nolan Pearson, piano, tambourine, and tam-tam; and Andrew Emerich and Alex Monroe, percussion.
