Victor Goines, conductor
Horace Silver, born 1928, is an American jazz pianist and composer. His father emigrated from the island of Maio in Cape Verde, and that nation’s Portuguese character has played a major part in Silver’s music. Also influenced by a wide range of musical styles — notably gospel, African, Latin American, and soul jazz — Silver is known for his distinctively humorous and funky playing style and for his pioneering compositional contributions to hard bop.
Tickets are $7 for the general public, $5 for seniors and Northwestern faculty and staff, and $4 for students.

Description
Regenstein is located directly south of Pick-Staiger in the Arts Circle.
Free parking is available in the parking structure just south of Regenstein. Wheelchair accessible parking is in the same lot. Note that a university parking permit is required in this lot until 4 p.m. on weekdays.
The main entrance is the southern door on the west side of the building.
Wheelchair accessible seats are available in the uppermost row of the auditorium.
Restrooms are located in the lobby.
