QuickTime Streaming Help

If the QuickTime player controls appear, but audio or video playback does not begin, your QuickTime software may not be configured correctly. A simple solution is outlined below for both Mac and Windows users.

  1. Close any web browser windows that contain streaming music or video. Close the QuickTime Player application if it is running.
  2. Open System Preferences, which can be found in your Apple menu and your Applications folder.
  3. Click QuickTime to open the QuickTime control panel. Click on the Advanced tab.
  4. Locate Transport Setup. It needs to be set to Automatic.
    • If it is currently set to Custom..., simply change it to Automatic.
    • If it is already set to Automatic, change it to Custom..., click OK on the dialog box that appears, then change it back to Automatic.
  5. Quit System Preferences. Streaming music and video should now work properly.
