Hear SFJAZZ in Chicagoland following their March 6 kickoff of the the Jazz at Lincoln Center spring season!

Rarely have saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, and drums collaborated to such perfection. An all-star ensemble comprising eight of today’s finest jazz performer-composers, the SFJAZZ Collective was launched in 2004 by SFJAZZ — the West Coast’s largest nonprofit jazz institution and the presenter of the annual San Francisco Jazz Festival. The Collective has quickly become one of the most exciting and acclaimed groups on the American and international jazz scenes, praised for its innovative approach to repertoire and its commitment to jazz as a living, ever-changing, and ever-relevant art form. Among the ensemble’s rave reviews are “sheer, out-of-the-box musicality” (Los Angeles Times), “the best overall live jazz set this writer has heard in the New Millennium” (All About Jazz), and “the group was roaring with the kind of chemistry that could truly be deemed collective” (San Francisco Chronicle).

Tickets are $16 for the general public, $12 for senior citizens and Northwestern faculty and staff, and $8 for students.
