Matteo Mela and Lorenzo Micheli, guitar

Matteo Mela has released two solo albums and has made recital, television, and radio appearances throughout Europe and North America. Lorenzo Micheli appears regularly as soloist in recital and with orchestras worldwide and has rediscovered and published works by Llobet and Castelnuovo-Tedesco. In 2003 they formed SoloDuo, and together they have performed throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. Their recordings include works by de Fossa, de Lhoyer, and Giuliani as well as 19th- and 20th-century music for two guitars. Soundboard magazine describes their playing as “musical and virtuosic in equal measure” and “wonderfully full of life.” Part of the Segovia Classical Guitar Series, supported in part by the Chicago Classical Guitar Society.
