When: Wed, Feb 1, 2012 - 7:30 pm
Where: Regenstein Recital Hall
Christopher Madsen and Marlene Rosenberg, directors
An evening of combo jazz celebrating the music of saxophonist, composer, and multiple Grammy winner Wayne Shorter. His carefully composed, uniquely complex charts have influenced numerous neo-bop artists—notably Branford Marsalis—and many of his tunes have become jazz standards.
Program will be selected from the following Wayne Shorter compositions:
Deluge (arr. Josh Jacobson)
Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum (arr. Cameron LeCrone)
Dance Cadaverous (arr. Michael Abbey)
This is for Albert (arr. Josh Jacobson)
Footprints (arr. Cameron LeCrone)
Children of the Night (arr. Michael Abbey)
Armageddon (arr. Curtis Boysen)
Night Dreamer (arr. Thomas Fagan)
House of Jade (arr. Andrew Henley)
Devil's Island (arr. Stephen Grindel)
Black Nile (arr. Nathan Zaporski)
Yes or No (arr. Lucas Messore)
Tickets are $6 for the general public and $4 for students.
