Northwestern University Jazz Orchestra: An Evening with Rufus Reid

A Northwestern University alumnus and one of the international jazz scene’s premier bassists, Rufus Reid has been honored with the Charlie Parker Jazz Composition Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the International Society of Bassists’ Distinguished Achievement Award. The recipient of numerous commissions, he has composed music for ensembles of all sizes. Over the course of his career he has performed and recorded with such jazz greats as Thad Jones, Mel Lewis, Bill Evans, Stan Getz, and Dizzy Gillespie. Reid joins the Jazz Orchestra for a concert featuring his compositions and arrangements.
