Pre-concert lecture at 2 p.m.

An ensemble of eight women’s voices, directed by Ellen Hargis, explores the music of baroque convents. Behind the cloister walls, these gifted women composed, arranged, and performed virtuoso music for their own devotional use, singing in astonishing vocal ranges. Harp and viola da gamba will accompany the music of Chiara Margarita Cozzolani, Isabella Leonarda, and Sulpitia Cesis.

Tickets are $35 for the general public and $5 for students. ($28 for general-public orders made in advance of the concert)
