Date and Time:
Saturday, November 14, 2015 - 7:30pm
Mary B. Galvin Recital Hall

“Oppens has always excelled in densely packed music that would make most pianists cower,” declares the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The four-time Grammy nominee has performed with many major orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Chicago Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Cassatt, JACK, Juilliard, and Pacifica Quartets. Among highlights last season were appearances at New York’s Bargemusic, Le Poisson Rouge, and Merkin Hall. Her program features music from her forthcoming Cedille Records release, including a performance of Frederic Rzewski’s new work Four Hands with Jerome Lowenthal, as well as Elliott Carter’s Night Fantasies (Oppens gave its North American premiere at Northwestern) and Rzewski’s The People United Will Never Be Defeated.
